Fashion Friday and Novel Release Party!

First of all, I'm so excited to tell you that my 1st novel, Murder On The Boulevard is available via Ebook on Amazon.com!  If you want to purchase it, please click HERE.  You can also click the link on my sidebar. The paperback version will be available in about a week on the same site, but for now, you can upload to any type of reader.  The cover art was done by fashion illustrator Inslee Haynes and is so gorgeous!  I am so proud of the final result and hope you love it.

I've been working on the novel for the past two years and would have never even known where to start if it wasn't for my friend Nicolette Fischer of Simple Colette and her advice to try NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month).  It's been a long, fun, extremely challenging process.  I've learned a lot about myself and my appreciation for all things vintage, which relates to today's post...but I'll get to that in a minute.

Thank you all for your ongoing support with my novel.  I can't believe how many great people I've met through blogging and am constantly reminded of the generosity and kindness of others through it.  Hope you love Murder On The Boulevard!

Now, let's get back to Fashion Friday!  Being inspired by my novel, I wanted to share some of my favorite photos that show vintage fashion.  I love the old lines, colors, styles, and of course the makeup and hair.  What's your favorite vintage fashion?

Make sure to go check out these ladies fabulous blogs, where they are celebrating my novel launch today! Julie at Brown Eyed Belle and Daphne at Flip Flops and Pearls.  Look at this adorable button they even created for me!

In all the excitement today, I forgot to mention that I'm guest posting at two blogs today! My friend Hannah of Hannah and Bryan is out of town, so I filled in for her on Fashion Friday.  Tell her I sent you!

I also filled in for  another friend of mine, Jennifer over at Southern Living: Preppy Style! Please go check out this Fashion Friday post and tell her you stopped by as well.

Both these blogs are amazing and you'll love these fabulous ladies!  Have a great weekend and don't forget to link up with either the Fashion Friday linky here, or the Novel Link up over at Brown Eyed Belle!

This is a blog hop and you're next!

Mad About Yellow

I've been fighting it for months.  It's grown on me and there's nothing I can do about it.  I'm now falling in love with the color yellow.  No one saw it coming, least of all me, but I have succumbed to the pressure lol.  Anyway, loving the color lately and had to share some really fun images.

Do you wear yellow?  Any specific shade?

If you didn't hear via Twitter last night, my Ebook will be available for purchase on Amazon.com Friday, but the paperback version won't be available for a few weeks.  I'm so excited that I'm probably over sharing a bit, but I don't care!  Have a great day friends!

Naughty Nautical

Ok, so maybe you don't think of naughty as the perfect adjective to describe nautical style.  Nautical style has been around forever and continues to come back each year, to celebrate summer.  The American colors of red, white, and blue look adorable all gussied up with bows, stripes, and buttons.  It also gives us a way to appear retro, vintage, and a little bit pin up girl.  Here are some great examples I found.

I'm feeling much better, thank you to those who followed on Twitter this weekend.  I'm looking forward to a much better week, and heading out to do some fun things on Saturday.  I'm also working on novel revisions, and can't wait to release on May 6.  Thank you, as always for all your support.  It truly touches my heart every day to interact with the Blogger community.  Have a great Monday friends!

Relaxation and a Pina Colada

Well, it's been a tough week, that's for sure.  My spring break is so late this year (the end of April), then we come back and we're out for the summer on June 10.  Having summers off is one of the many reasons I love being a teacher, but it's not often I get to actually go somewhere.

I haven't been to Hawaii since 2008, and I'm dying for a trip.  It's my source of comfort and relaxation and I'm seriously thinking I need a trip.

I got side swiped yesterday, and am not looking forward to getting my car fixed.  I also decided to push my novel release date back to May 6, if you noticed the counter on my sidebar.  I was putting a lot of pressure on myself to get everything done, and wanted to enjoy the process.  I hope to make it great so some of you want to buy it!  Hope you all have a great weekend friends.  In the meantime, what's your favorite vacation spot where you can just RELAX?
