So you've probably heard that singer Amy Winehouse died today. The autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow, but in the meantime, I've always thought it odd that so many famous singers died at the age of 27. All were due to drug overdoses, but it's still just a little eerie. Do you believe there is some type of coincidence that they all died at that age? Such a tragic loss to see yet another young talent gone too soon.

Thank God I made it to 28 this year. And goodness, Janis looks way older than 27. In all seriousness, incredibly talented artists.
Jesus died at 33 and they all want to better him? What a waste. Damn shame.
So sad and so eerie. Do you think she wanted to become part of that "hall of fame"? She was certainly on a path of self-destruction :-(

Wow, that is so interesting...I have no idea it happened at 27 for each of them. So sad about Amy.
Sad, sad, sad to see all these beautiful, incredibly talented youngsters go to soon! And they are all the ones everyone remembers. They were the ones who have changed music for the better (Ok,so a lot of other artists have too) but you know what I mean? It's just so sad.

Well the actual "27 Group" list states that only about half were drug overdoses the rest were accidents, murders, missing, etc. I thought it was strange so many died at 27 until I saw there is a "26 Group", "25 Group", etc. etc.
Still sad though :/

It is really weird...
When I first saw this list I was blown away by how many greats died so young. Even though I knew that Amy had problems it still was shocking to hear about her death. It really saddens me how someone could be so lost in their addiction that it results in their death.
