Fashion Friday-VMA's 2012

Good morning all! I had to post Fashion Friday of course, so here it is!  I hope you can link up with me!  I've reached 1,650 followers and I'm so thankful for all your support!  Blogging is so rewarding for me and I hope I never see the day that I don't love it!

Moving on--the VMA's (Video Music Awards) were last night at the Staples Center in LA and unfortunately I have to say once again I'm a bit disappointed in our young stars.  Not a lot of fashion inspiration going on and there were more don'ts than do's. Here are a few looks I didn't mind.

Pump It Up

I hope you all had a fabulous day off relaxing!  I ran around doing things for the new place, and spent some time with Mom and Dad.  Please keep the prayers coming for my Dad.  We're hoping to get more information on his condition this week.

Now that I'm back into the work groove, I'm itching to get a gorgeous new pair of pumps.  Check out these lovelies from Nordstrom.  What's your favorite look for Fall?

You Go Glen Coco!

One of my favorite movies is Mean Girls.  It gets funnier every time I watch it and it has definitely become a cult phenomenon.  My students still quote the movie and it's from 2004!  I found some fun trivia on the film.  Who is your favorite character?  Mine is Gretchen Weiners for sure lol.

--Nearly earned an R rating for explicit, risqué gags and jokes which were subsequently cut.

--In the book upon which the movie is based, the most popular girl in a school is given the title "Queen Bee". In the movie, the character who fits that description is named Regina - "queen" in Latin.

--Amy Poehler who plays Mrs. George is only seven years older than her on screen daughter Rachel McAdams (Regina George).

--Amanda Seyfried, who plays Karen in the film, was initially supposed to play Cady, but producer Lorne Michaels thought she would be better as the "dumb girl".

--Initially, Lindsay Lohan was cast as Regina, but decided to play the "nice girl" so the public wouldn't base her real personality on Regina's. Rachel McAdams was chosen to play the "mean girl" because "only nice girls can play mean girls" according to the producer.

--Lacey Chabert was the first and only choice for the role of Gretchen.

--In the scene where Christmas candy canes are being distributed in the classroom Damien, dressed in a Santa suit, reads out the name Glenn Cocco, a good friend of Tina Fey

--Tina Fey and Amy Poehler coached Rajiv Surendra on how to rap for his on-screen performance in the school's Winter Talent Show.

--The skirts for the Christmas talent show are made of plastic; the costume designer says they were made of that fabric to "represent the Plastics".

--Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams play characters who attend the same school and are in the same grade, in spite of the 8 year age difference between the two actresses.

Luscious Leather

Hey all!  Today has been jam packed.  I finally got my storage unit all cleaned out, and I have to tell you it is an amazing feeling!!!  No more wasted money!  Now the next step is just throwing out some of the junk.  My Dad came home today.  He is glad to be home, but worried about the lack of treatment he is able to receive.  They pretty much told him he had to learn to manage his stress and could have another heart attack at any time.  Not very reassuring.  He's going to a specialist this week to see if there is anything else that can be done.  We'd appreciate any prayers you can give us.  His name is Mark.

While unpacking, I have to say I was a bit giddy about finding my collection of leather jackets.  If there's one trend I've always loved it's a fabulous leather jacket.  They are so versatile and can make any outfit complete.  They look great with a dress, or of course jeans and heels.  Here are a few of my favorite for this Fall.
