The Cord Challenge

Are you up for it?  What's the challenge you ask?  Wear corduroy and feel good about it.  Harsh?  I think not.  I am not a corduroy fan as you might be able to tell.  I can't get past the 1970's, bell bottom cords that my mom wore with her Hang Ten t-shirt.  I have to admit though, there are some cute ways to wear corduroy and these pics prove just that.

Kori always finds the most beautiful things to post for my Pink and Green Thursday blog linkup, and I love playing along with her for her series, Fashion Fridays.  One thing Kori and I definitely share a mutual passion for is all things inspired by fashion!   When I think about shopping this time of year, although it is hard to pack away the bikinis and seersucker and say farewell to summer, leather riding boots and cozy cashmere sweaters start calling my name, and I can't help but get excited for the fun fall fashion transition.

H&M's newest ad campaign for Fall 2011 featuring the lovely Sasha Pivovarova just speaks right to my heart with the warm rich tones, layering with dresses and vests, and of course lots of opaque tights with boots.  How could you not fall in love with fall with looks so cute and affordable?

Fabulous Feathers

Hope you all had a great weekend!  I'm sure you all heard the great news, that Osama Bin Laden has been killed.  It's about time!  What a wonderful way to end the weekend.

It was absolutely gorgeous in Southern California.  It was a great week to be on Spring Break.  I'm back to work today, and have been noticing that feathers are literally everywhere.  Since I teach high school, I've seen quite a few girls sporting feathers in their hair, on their headbands, accessories, and even clothing.

I had a feather in my hair for a while, but couldn't stand the extension and kind of got over it quickly.  But I'm loving all the feathers.  They definitely give fashion a bohemian feel and are perfect for the upcoming season.  What do you think about the trend?  Loving it, or over it?

Liz Taylor In Iran

Vanity Fair is my favorite magazine for many reasons, including the Hollywood history they so often provide.  This is true of the photos I chose for today's post.  I was born in 1976, so I found it interesting that they decided to feature Elizabeth Taylor's trip to Iran that same year.

According to Vanity Fair, "In 1976, Elizabeth Taylor took her first and only trip to Iran, photographer Firooz Zahedi in tow.  The captivating, exotically colorful pictures that resulted will debut this month at LACMA; the untold story of Zahedi and Taylor's artistic and personal adventure."

Interesting that Liz probably wouldn't have the same opportunity today with the political upheaval going on throughout the Middle East.  I'm loving the color of the photos.  Look at Liz's outfits!
