Oh So Dramatic

I usually share anything I can find where Karlie Kloss is modeling.  She just has that look I love that's so editorial and really makes a statement.  This photo shoot from W Magazine by Craig McDean is no exception.  I love the drama of the photos.  As usual, she looks like a glamazon.  Thoughts?

Venice Film Festival Fashion

(Dakota Fanning)

Yesterday I focused on the photos of George Clooney and Sandra Bullock at the Venice Film Festival. Today, I wanted to share a few of the other stunning photos from the events.  Dakota Fanning is looking so grown up!  Which look is your favorite?

George and Sandra?

The Venice Film Festival brought out all the stars this year, but of course the two that made the biggest entrance were Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.  There have been many rumors to the two being involved in a new relationship, and I have to say after seeing these photos, they look great together.  Take a look.

The Perfect Face and Body

Who has the perfect face?  The perfect body?  It's interesting to find what we think constitutes perfection from generation to generation.  It does change, but does it really all that much? I came across a recent study by MYA and thought they might be right on with their findings.  Do you agree or disagree?

According to a recent survey, it would appear that the public's perception of perfection has barely changed over the decades. With the hourglass, shapely woman and the muscular, V-shaped man revealed to be the most desired body shapes, even after all these years.

The survey from MYA http://www.mya.co.uk/the-perfect-body, which involved over 1,000 men and women, asked participants to choose their perfect and most desired body parts using different celebrities as examples.

Despite the emergence of the 'supermodel' and the size-0 craze over the years, the findings revealed that the iconic 1950's Marilyn Monroe figured woman is still deemed to be the perfect body type, much to the relief of the increasingly curvy modern-day skinny woman.

Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian and Beyonce are famous for their sexy curves and feminine form and, apparently, these have not gone unnoticed by the good people of the world. Kim Kardashian came out with the most favored overall body shape and Beyonce took the no.1 spot for her legs, abs and bum, all of which are voluptuous, shapely, and toned with not a size-0 in sight.

When it comes to the female face, delicate, soft features were the most popular. It was Cheryl Cole's doe-eyes and glossy, long brown hair, teamed with Angelina Jolie's luscious lips and button nose that came together to create the 'perfect' face, according to the participants.

And it wasn't only the female form that came under scrutiny. The participants were also asked for their opinion on what constitutes the perfect male face and body. With David Beckham's overall body shape, bum and legs and Channing Tatum's Abs, it seems that the chiselled physique of original poster boy, Eugen Sandow, remains the most popular idea of perfection. The defined, V-Shaped body has been the envy of men and the desire of women since the Victorian times and it would appear that the only difference today is a few strategically placed tattoos.

Bradley Cooper's pale blue eyes, Brad Pitt's enviable nose and pouting lips and David Beckham's famous head of hair would complete the perfect look for a man according to the survey.
Although, it is somewhat surprising to find that this perception of the perfect face and body has barely faltered over the decades, it is undeniable that a classically curvy woman and a muscular man are likely to remain the desired body shapes and deemed 'perfect' for many more years to come.

Mr. Brooks

September 1st already?  I'll say it again, where has the year gone?  I'm loving having the long weekend off, and decided it might be time to stay in and watch a movie.  I'm a sucker for a good crime drama, so Mr. Brooks it is.  If you've never seen Mr. Brooks, you might want to make sure you like the whole serial killer, dark drama thing before you watch.  It's one of my favorites...here's some trivia to go along with it.  Have a great Sunday!

--Danielle Panabaker plays the daughter of Mr. Brooks (Kevin Costner) and Mrs. Brooks (Marg Helgenberger). Panabaker's younger sister, Kay Panabaker plays the recurring role of Lindsey Willows, the daughter of Catherine Willows (also played by Marg Helgenberger) on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation for CBS.

--According to interviews with Kevin Costner, this is supposedly the first movie in a trilogy.

--The prayer Mr. Brooks repeats throughout the movie is called "Serenity Prayer" written by the theologian Reinhold Niebuhr. This prayer is in use in Alcoholics Anonymous since the early 1940s. Mr. Brooks visits AA-meetings to curb his morbid addiction.

--Zach Braff was originally cast as Mr. Smith.

--Kevin Costner, as Mr. Brooks, is reading a paper in a diner, the newspaper - USA Today - has only the headlines and first few lines written in English, the rest is in Latin.

--Reportedly William Hurt took the role of Marshall because he loved the idea of someone going to an Addicts Anonymous class as a cure for homicidal actions.

--Earl Brooks was written with Kevin Costner in mind to play him.

--Kevin Costner thought the script was one of the most perfect scripts he'd ever read. There are only three other scripts he's read that made him feel that way. The writers took a day off to celebrate after hearing that.

--Dane Cook only had to read half the script to decide he wanted to play Mr Smith.

--During the shootout between Detective Atwood, Meeks and Sarah in the darkened hotel hallway, the flashes of light that appear were created by a lighting rig hooked up to an audio trigger, which was programmed to respond to the sound of their gunshots. The actors were essentially directing their own lighting.

--When Demi Moore's character is up on the parking lot rooftop with Mr. Smith (Dane Cook), she gets him out of his car and says something along the lines of: "Didn't you say you were a potter? One who likes to make ceramic bowls or vases?" Mr. Smith replies: "No I never said anything about making pots or bowls, I said I was an amateur photographer". This seemingly random question only makes sense if you watch the deleted scenes (on the DVD) where, during the crime scene of the couple he kills (the one with the drapes open), they find a small ceramic sample (the type that is used with a kiln) left behind in the carpet fiber. Mr. Brookes had apparently tracked it onto the crime scene from his basement, but the director cut it believing it didn't work because Mr. Brooks is portrayed as too much of a meticulous planner for that to happen.

Wearing White After Labor Day

It's Labor Day weekend and if you follow the old rule about wearing white, it's time to put away that white and focus on other colors for the year.  I don't really follow that rule.  Living in Southern California, it's hot until November and no one notices if we wear white pants all year round.  For those of you who are sticklers for the old fashioned, Vogue Magazine shows you what to keep readily available and what to put away after tomorrow.  Check it out.

Oh Lana

I have to admit I didn't know much about Lana Del Rey until I heard her on The Great Gatsby soundtrack, and I fell in love with her voice.  If you haven't heard the song, check out the video below. I stumbled across some awe-inspiring photos of her in a French magazine called L'Officiel.  There were so many stunning shots, I couldn't choose, so I'm sharing the rest on my Blonde Episodes Facebook page.  Which one do you love?
