Oh Lana

I have to admit I didn't know much about Lana Del Rey until I heard her on The Great Gatsby soundtrack, and I fell in love with her voice.  If you haven't heard the song, check out the video below. I stumbled across some awe-inspiring photos of her in a French magazine called L'Officiel.  There were so many stunning shots, I couldn't choose, so I'm sharing the rest on my Blonde Episodes Facebook page.  Which one do you love?

The Fitzgerald Suite at The Plaza

Today's the day!  "The Great Gatsby" is finally here.  I've been teaching the novel for the past 12 years and could not be more excited to have a modern version of the film.  Baz Luhrmann always gives us fabulous productions, and I have a feeling this one will be no exception.  The cast looks perfect, the sets are gorgeous, and now you can stay in a suite at The Plaza that honors F. Scott Fitzgerald.

The suite was designed by Catherine Martin, Academy Award winning costume designer, production designer, and co-producer of "The Great Gatsby."  Look at this gorgeous place...want to stay here?

Gatsby Opulence

I've mentioned (quite a few times lol) that I'm extremely excited about Baz Luhrmann's version of The Great Gatsby coming out on May 10th.  I shared a few of the sets in a previous post, but had to share the fabulous photos The Hollywood Reporter published on their site with descriptions of each.  All photos and descriptions are taken from The Hollywood Reporter.  Check out the veranda...OMG.

"Jazz Age Glamour"

The celebration of Gatsby continues.  Tiffany & Co. created jewels specifically for the upcoming Baz Luhrmann version of The Great Gatsby.  The collection is inspired by the archives of the Tiffany vault. What better way to showcase the film than with stunning 1920's-inspired jewels?  Vogue Australia features some of the pieces this month.  Which piece is your favorite?

"Can't Repeat the Past...?"

Let the countdown continue.  May 10th is the official release date of the Baz Luhrmann version of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby.  I've mentioned a few times that it's my favorite novel of all time, but there are many celebrations going on for the release.  Tiffany and Co. just had a party this week, showcasing some of the pieces used in the film.  And, today I see that Vogue Magazine revisits the 1974 version and the fabulous fashions from the film.  Take a look.

"...There was something gorgeous about him..."

I've mentioned quite a few times that I'm dying to see the new Baz Luhrmann version of The Great Gatsby.  Gatsby is my favorite novel of all time.  I've been waiting for an updated version since the 1970's Robert Redford film.  The previews look amazing, the fashions and the decor are stunning, and Leo is starring.  What could be better?

Carey Mulligan is on the cover of the May issue of Vogue Magazine in all her Daisy Buchanan glory.  Take a look.
