6 Ways to Wear Sequins on New Year's
Few things are as synonymous with New Year's
Eve as sequins. Coming at the tail end of the holidays, right before winter's
deep freeze, New Year's Eve is a time to celebrate dazzling promise and hope.
To ring in 2013 properly, you need to narrow down your options from the many
overdone sequined dresses out there. To do that, you need to understand what’s
popular this season.
Fit to a 'T'
The beauty of this silver stunner by Adrianna Papell is that
rather than being too tight, it is slightly roomy like your favorite crew neck
T-shirt. The cap sleeves give great coverage as well and help to create a
balanced silhouette. This is not only universally flattering, but will leave
room for dancing throughout the night.
Rose Colored Glasses
A surprising color choice for New Year's is
light blush wine. Rarely seen in sequin form, this rosy shade looks great with
any hair color and classic red lips. This dress, by Rubber Ducky, will play up
great legs while keeping things modest on top with three-quarter length
sleeves. Here are some more dresses
like this one from Rubber Ducky.
Refined Disco
You can bring some Studio 54 glam to a New
Year's party with a gleaming gold mini dress set off by unexpected split
bat-wing sleeves. This is a great look for someone who likes to add a little
more sophistication to a party dress.
Demure Dazzler
For ladies who prefer a more understated look,
this dress is a perfect choice. The combination of a burnished gold sequined bodice and
a cream chiffon skirt will provide just enough flash when the lights go down
for the ball drop.
Midnight Mesh
Inky black sequins make anyone’s curves look
great in this dress by ASOS. It is a deep plunge dress that both busty and
smaller chested women can wear, thanks to the modest panel of black mesh. This look is both sexy and classic
look that will for sure turn some heads.
Confetti Drop
For more formal affairs, nothing captures the
moment when the confetti falls quite like this special dress from David's
Bridal. A ruched sash wraps over a sweetheart neckline to provide dramatic
asymmetry. Pewter sequins fade from clumps to flurries down the lines of a dove
gray chiffon gown. Side slits provide plenty of opportunities to flash a little
leg. You can find more dresses like these at
David’s Bridal.
No matter what dress you decide to go with, remember that
leaving out the sequins is just as bad as toasting 2013 with an empty champagne
glass!
