Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison
Hollywood loves a true story. We see them all the time. Some are good, some not so good. Rock of Ages starring Tom Cruise is coming out soon and if you didn't know, he is trying to portray rocker Stacee Jaxx. You do know that Stacey Jaxx is fake right? The movie is based on a Broadway play.

I love this post and I've seen all of these movies! Other the "Rock Of Ages", but I have seen the Broadway show, which it is based on.

Jamie Foxx is outstanding as Ray Charles....&U loved the movie too. Of coure Joaquin Phoenix has my heart as the Man in Black!
I cannot give a vote to Val Kilmer, even thuogh I am a die-hard DOORS fan...Mr. Kilmer happens to live in my town (Santa Fe, NM) and has a terrible reputation for being a real d!ck. Not to mention, that was *ahem* severasl pounds ago when he played that role...*heehee!
Kristin Stewart looks great as Joan Jett, but I didn't catch that movie...was she any good, acting-wise?

I really enjoyed Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison AND Joaquin as johnny!
I think the actors that portrayed real life rock stars did great. Especially Jamie Foxx, Joaquin Phoenix (and we can't forget Reese), Val Kilmer, etc. All of the ones you listed except I have no idea who Tom Cruise is playing...but, I still want to see the movie. I think, for me, it is more how the actor portrays themself and makes "me" belief who they are...
I agree Val was the best.
